FINAL preparations are being made for a production of Annie in Whitehaven.

The popular musical is being staged by the Whitehaven and District Amateur Operatic Society in the Civic Hall.

And the society’s Lynn McTiffin said that the younger cast members can’t wait to get started!

“We are looking forward to it all happening – we have a lot of excited children! They just want to get on the stage! They are enjoying it and are full of enthusiasm,” she said.

Members of the society started rehearsing last September for the show.

Annie will be played by 11-year-old Neve Finn. Tia – who plays dog, Sandy – is owned by Kelly Gribbin, who owns the Castle Knights pub and restaurant.

Miss Hannigan is being played by Laura Matzk, Daddy Warbucks is being played by Gary Foley and Rooster is being played by Stuart Evans.

Behind the scenes, the musical director is Mike Aimes, Ann Simpson is directing and choreography is by Tracy McQuat.

The show runs from Tuesday, March 24 to the Saturday, starting at 7pm. There is a 2pm matinee on the Saturday.
