Traffic disruption is expected on the A66 in West Cumbria from next week.
Sections of the road are being closed for five nights between 8pm to 6am.
The closures are to allow work on Great Clifton roundabout to be completed before Christmas.
They will take place from Friday, December 13 to Wednesday, December 18 with work due to finish on Friday 20 December.
The A66 Stainburn bypass will be closed between Stainburn roundabout and Brigham and Broughton junction.
The A595 will be closed from Great Clifton roundabout to Bridgefoot junction along with the C2069 from the roundabout to the crossroads in Great Clifton
Diversions will be in place between Lillyhall, Workington, Maryport and Cockermouth using the A596, A594 and A595.
Local diversions will also be in place to allow for residential access and for bus services between Great Clifton and Stainburn.
Once work at the Great Clifton roundabout is completed Highways England will move on to improving Fitz roundabout near Cockermouth in the new year.
That work is due to be completed next spring.
