THE world's greatest gurners were declared last night at Egremont Crab Fair.
The traditional event took place at the town's Market Hall with hundreds gathering around the stage to see the county's finest gurners.
This year was the 751st Crab Fair, making it one of the oldest in the world.
World Gurning Champion in the men section for the third year in a row was Adrian Zivelonghi, known as Adrian from Coventry.
He said: "I can't believe it. It's bizarre."
Runner-up was Gordon Blacklock, 71, of Whitehaven and in third place was Mike Bailey.
Best woman gurner was once again Claire Spedding, 31, of Egremont, who won for the fourth time in a row, but has won five times in total.
Claire said she wanted to keep the title in Egremont for Anne Woods, who won the competition a record 28 times before she passed away in 2015.
Claire's daughter, Georgia Lister, 9, secured the junior award.
She said she was "proud" to have won.
