MCINTOSH Joan Eileen (nee Smith) Died peacefully in Bradbury House, Gosforth on Wednesday 10th July 2024, aged 87 years. Loving wife of the late Arthur, much loved mum to Simon and John and a beloved grandma and great grandma. Funeral service and cremation to take place at Distington Hall Crematorium on Wednesday 7th August at 11.15am. Family flowers only by request. Donations, if desired, to Friends of Bradbury House, Gosforth c/o Adams, Read & Hocking Funeral Directors, Towerson Street Funeral Home, Towerson Street, Cleator, CA23 3EL.

Joan was a true friend to my dad, Bill Perriam, whilst he lived at Bradbury house. They arrived at the same time, dad recently widowed and rather forlorn, and they struck up a real friendship. They were great pals and spent much time chatting and putting the world to rights. He respected her greatly and was very fond of he. I spent many happy times chatting with Joan myself and grew fond of her too. I was a frequent visitor as I lived close by. My best memories are of Joan setting off on her daily walks , looking for an escape route she said! , her sitting on the bench near the entrance in the sunshine , her spending long hours in the summer house with dad and Doreen and the last Christmas I was there for the Christmas games session with dad - 2022- , Joan won every game of bingo!! She was delighted!! We laughed a lot about that. She was a wonderful lady who had kindness, understanding and good humour. I remember that she loved the food at Bradbury house and was always recommending it to me! She will be much missed. Confolences to all.
