SEWELL Gerald Hodgson Suddenly but peacefully at the Cumberland Infirmary on Thursday 22nd February 2024, Gerry aged 82 years (retired deputy head teacher). Beloved husband of Susan, dear brother of Margaret, brother-in-law of Frank, dear uncle and friend. A funeral service to be held at Carlisle Crematorium on Tuesday 12th March at 12.20pm. RIP - Gerry. The teacher I remember most fondly, he taught me at Bookwell in Egremont. He had time for everyone and was a great teacher. Met him several years later after leaving Wyndham school and moving to Whitehaven in the Sunnyhill pub where I worked as a barman while serving my apprenticeship. Always had a time for a conversation!
