BROCKBANK Averil (nee Sykes) 1938 -2022 Fell asleep peacefully with her family by her side on Monday 31st October 2022, in the exceptional care of the Stroke Unit at Carlisle Infirmary. Cherished wife and best friend of Roy of 65 years. Adored mother to Antony and Kevin, wonderful mother-in-law to Amanda and Elaine, special nannie to Ellie and William and great-nannie to Lucy. Many thanks to the North West Ambulance Service, Cumbria Fire Brigade and especially to the care and support of the Stroke Unit at Carlisle Infirmary. Funeral service and cremation to take place at Distington Hall Crematorium on Tuesday 15th November at 1.15pm, followed by a celebration of Averil's long and happy life at Whitehaven Golf Club. Donations in memory of Averil are for The Stroke Unit Carlisle Infirmary, The North West Ambulance Service and Cumbria Fire Brigade in appreciation of the wonderful service they provide c/o Adams, Read & Hocking Funeral Directors, Towerson Street Funeral Home, Towerson Street, Cleator, CA23 3EL.
