SMITHAM Geoffrey Peacefully, at his home and surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday 27th September 2022, Geoff, aged 95 years. Beloved husband of the late Joan, dearly loved dad of Judith, Clive, Barney and the late Joan, much adored granda of Kerry, Candice, Catherine and Claire and much loved great-granda of Ciar, Leo, Ava, Jessica, Bradley, Jenson, Imogen and Darcie. Will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. Funeral service to be held at St. John's Church, Hensingham, on Wednesday 12th October at 11:00am, followed by interment at Whitehaven Cemetery. Deeply saddened to hear this. Geoff always tried to keep me in work, when it was scarce. He could make a 12hr shift fly by, making us all laugh. The language was ripe, and loved every minute of it, nothing was off the cards for " discussion". Used to go home with sore sides from laughing. Loved sorting fish with him when the boats came in with full loads of flat fish. Truly the end of an era. Fly high Butto!
