BAINES Peter Pete died peacefully at home in Wasdale after a long illness and will be sadly missed by mother Florence, sister Judith, brother Andrew and wife Janice and many other friends and relatives. Peter taught at Whitehaven school from 1977 to 2012 and was a member of Wasdale Mountain Rescue team for more than 40 years. He loved the outdoors and ran, walked, climbed and skied in many different countries. Funeral service to take place in St Michael and All Angels church, Nether Wasdale on Monday 23rd May at 11.00am followed by a burial in the village cemetery with refreshments afterwards at the Strands Inn. Flowers are very acceptable or donations will be shared between Wasdale Mountain Rescue team and the Wasdale Defibrillator Fund, c/o Adams, Read & Hocking Funeral Directors, Towerson Street Funeral Home, Towerson Street, Cleator, CA23 3EL.
