CONNELL Jack Please pray for John James of Trentham, former head teacher of St Wilfred Primary School Tunstall, who died peacefully on the 23rd July 2021 whilst in the loving care of his family at the RSUH, aged 86 years. Dearly beloved husband of Glenda. Devoted dad to Lesley Ann and Christopher. A dearest father-in-law. A loving and much loved grandad and great-grandad who will be truly missed and was fortified with the rites of the Holy Catholic Church R.I.P. A funeral service took place at St Teresa's RC Church, Trent Vale on Tuesday 17th August 2021 at 2.00pm. Donations made in memory of Jack went to WellChild - the national charity for sick children.

Jack Connell was my dad. It isn't clear in this obituary, but he was so proud to be Whitehaven born and bred. He lived up in Bransty, born 1934 to Kitty and Jack sr. He moved away and enjoyed a successful career in education, spending his final working years and retirement in Stoke-on Trent, with my mother Glenda, where he died. He read the Whitehaven News online to keep in touch with his hometown and was full of stories of his life there. Whitehaven meant so very much to him and because of that, to us, his family, as well
