HOLMES Ernest Valentine "Val" Aged 90 years, peacefully on Tuesday 11th May 2021 at Whitehaven, Cumbria. Husband of the late Susan, brother, uncle, an inspirational teacher and mentor to many. A gifted communicator, artist and actor, he was an original and said it as he saw it, with wit and astute observation. He loved his life in Cumbria, thanks to the kindness and generosity of his friends and neighbours. Private funeral service to take place on Monday 24th May at Distington Hall Crematorium, with a celebration and thanksgiving later in the summer.
