ELLWOOD, Stanley Poole - The family of Stan would like to thank friends and family for their help and sympathy at this sad time. Stan was undoubtedly a legend in his life time, loved and respected by many. We would like to give thanks for all who sent cards and donations (The Great North Air Ambulance), the Rev John Riley for a memorable service, all the nurses and carers at the Bethaven Nursing Home and to Norman Southward Funeral Director. Special thanks to Peter Redhead for his time and effort arranging a send off he would have been proud of, the six bearers who had such a sad task, the speakers Bruce Porter and Mark Davis, Edmund Porter for blowing of the horn, The Brown Cow for a splendid wake and to Michael Postlethwaite for the use of his field for parking.
