A DRUNK man who refused to leave the doorway of a pub was arrested after pointing in police officers’ faces.
Jim Connors, 30, was at the Stock Exchange bar in Whitehaven on October 5. Police were called because he was refusing to leave after being ejected, Workington Magistrates’ Court heard.
Pamela Fee, prosecuting, said police arrived and saw the defendant was ‘very intoxicated’. He was signalling for a woman to come outside.
Police asked him to leave the doorway numerous times. He started pointing in their faces and was arrested for being drunk and disorderly.
Officers had to use force to get him into the police vehicle.
Connors, who was not legally represented, said: “I was never in the Stock Exchange.
“They dislocated my wrist. That’s why I refused to get in the van. I was drunk but they [the officers] were not innocent.”
Connors, of Coxs Court, Hibaldstow, Brigg, North Lincolnshire, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly.
He was fined £40 and ordered to pay £85 costs.
