AS a change from their nighttime concerts Whitehaven Male Voice Choir is holding two concerts this year in the afternoon.
The first of these is a joint concert with Dalston Male Voice Choir, in St Mary’s RC Church Cleator, on Sunday, October 20, commencing at 2.30pm, featuring individual and joint songs by both choirs with solos by the barbershop quartet from each choir. Admission to the concert is £10.
A spokesperson said: "The choirs held a most enjoyable concert in Carlisle last year and Whitehaven MVC welcomed their visitors to this wonderful setting of St Mary’s Church, Cleator.
"Anyone lucky enough to attend the Whitehaven MVC joint concert in September 2023, with Millhouse Green MVC, will have appreciated the magnificent sound of 50 male voices in full voice enhanced by the outstanding acoustics of St Mary’s Church, and this concert should be no exception with up to 45 male voices attending.
"The second of the afternoon concerts will be Whitehaven MVC’s Annual Christmas Concert in St James’ Church, Whitehaven on December 14, 2024, commencing at 2.30pm."
