CUMBERLAND Council has issued an update on the one million pound roadworks that are taking place on the A5086 in Frizington.
The road will be closed from Church Street to Frizington HWRC between Monday, October 7 and Sunday, October 13 as the roadworks enter their fourth phase.
The road has previously been closed as the council completed earlier phases of work which included road repairs, footway upgrades, drainage replacement, and refreshing road markings.
The council has also announced that the road will be closed between Frizington HWRC and Kenmare Tyres between Monday, October 14, and Saturday, October 19 for phase five of the work.
As part of the work, school buses will have access to the closed sections of the road during peak times.
Writing on social media, Cumberland Council said: "We apologise for any inconvenience, but these upgrades are essential to improve Frizington’s roads and reduce future disruptions. Thank you for your patience."
