THORNTON Andrew (Dr) Of Moor End, Irton Passed away peacefully in West Cumberland Hospital on Wednesday 20th March 2024, aged 79 years surrounded by his wife Marion and children Katy, David and Ian. He was the most wonderful husband and dad, a loving grandad to Jasper, Fletcher, Isla and Kristian and a devoted friend to many. Funeral service to be held at St Paul's Church, Irton on Wednesday 17th April at 11.30am. Family flowers only by request. Donations, if desired to Hospice at Home West Cumbria c/o Adams, Read & Hocking Funeral Directors, Towerson Street Funeral Home, Towerson Street, Cleator, CA23 3EL.Tributes

A good friend from 60 plus years ago - fell walking at school and in the same Residence at University. I'm so sorry to hear that Andrew has walked his last walk. One of nature's best. To Marion and the family - deepest sympathy from Jayne and Ken
